Try a mattifier. You can find them in the drug store in the skin treatments section, usually around the acne products. You put it on after you wash your face in the morning. Then you can put on makeup, if you use it. Then during the day carry blotting papers with you. They are thin sheets of tissue like paper that sometime have powder on them. You use them to blot excess oil during the day.

I have tried using organic lotion for oily skin, didnt work. Also tried using a milk magnesium mask and that didnt work. AND oil wipes by clean and clear. Doesn’t work!! What can I do?

Use water based lotions on face. Make sure your not using any body lotions on your face. Only use facial creams. Try using some pore strips the night before and leaving them on until morning. Use tissue paper/ kleenex to blot your face during the day. I hope this helps 🙂

my face gets all oily and shiny all the time, causing me to break out in pimples. i used so many acne products that have been advertised especially if it says “for normal to oily skin” it doesnt work! does anyone know any homemade remedies or products i could use? and please don’t say proactive, because i dont want to bother ordering over the phone.

I don’t recommend trying home remedies as they are not very reliable and consistent.

The best moisturizing product that I’d recommend is: Neutrogena Moisture Oil Free Formula, Combination Skin.

– Moisturises skin
– Non-oily
– Non-irritating (no fragrance)
– Makes the face look matte (gets rid of shine)
– Does not cause more break outs
– Leaves skin refreshed
– Great for combination skin

I have really oily skin and I’ve tried everything that is on the market including clean &clear, clearasil, neutrogena, biore. It would appreciate any advise that could be given.

Honestly, I feel that those kind of acne products really don’t help me at all. So, instead, try do a bit of digging around on the internet to find something. These items almost always work better than the products you’ve listed. The things I have found that improve my acne are:
Acne Free – I found that this product was MILES better than Proactiv
Skin Doctors Zit Zpper – Apply this on affected areas before you go to sleep, This dries out the spots and makes them a lot smaller in size and also reduces the redness of pimples.
PanOxyl – this stuff is really good! It makes your skin a lot less greasy and oily.
UltraClear – this cream is the BOMB! It is doing great stuff for my skin.

just put some toothpaste on youre face.
it drys out the pimple. resulting in killing it.
or get some baking soda, put a little water in it and apply to face. same side effect as toothepaste.

For one, make sure you wash your face twice a day, once in the morning and once at night. You should treat your acne with a prescribed cream or gel from your doctor. Because the treatment might be drying to your skin, I recommend you use moisturize your skin despite the way that your skin is oily. I like to use Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel. You can also try the lotion version if you find the gel to drying.

i have really oily skin, i dont have mmuuch pimples but have red spots not exactly pimples. i cleanse with cetaphil cleanser for oily skin then moistureize with avene. after that dries i put on MAC studio fix spf 15 foundation, and after a while my makeup dries up and gets scaley, but overall still oily. whats the BEST moistureiser and cleanser for my skin, so it looks natural and good!

The cetaphil cleanser is OK but I prefer Garnier Pure Deep Pore Wash and then its Light Moisturiser. Use a mineral foundation which is non clogging or cover girl clean makeup which is non comodogenic (which basically means it wont clog your pores). The mineral makeup wont get scaley or separate like it will with a liquid foundation due to oil. It is lighter and kinder to your skin and gives a more natural appearance.

I was thinking about using yogurt mixed with honey but i’ve also heard that oatmeal or baking soda are good facial masks. For those of you with oily skin what do you use that works and how often do you do it? My skins REALLY oily. Plus, what are some other types. I already use loose powder and oil absorbing sheets and wash my face twice a day.

First, use a baking soda scrub–but be gentle! Just dissolve 3 teaspoons baking soda in a little water to form a runny paste, exfoliate. Leave the baking soda on for 15 minutes. Rinse with warm–then COOL water. (Using warm water encourages oil release. Always end with cool.)

A plain egg white facial is THE BEST for oily skin! Just whip an egg white until it is frothy–apply, leave on 15-20 minutes. Rinse.

Another one that REALLY works–if you can avoid the “ick” factor, is clay kitty litter mask. Dissolve some CLAY kitty litter in a little water (put in blender to speed the blending). Apply, leave on 20 minutes. (Clay kitty litter usually runs less than $ 3 for a big bag.)

And, lastly, use plain apple cider vinegar as a “toner.” Chill, apply with a cotton ball. Cuts oil, good for skin. Dilute 50/50 with water if it is too strong for you initially.

For makeup, switch to rice powder–Sally Beauty Supply has it, along with their rice powder blotter papers–both less than $ 5.

I’ve had a problem with very oily skin most of my adult life. I’m 40 now, and my skin gets more oily than ever. If I don’t pat down my face every half hour with tissue paper, my face literally looks like I smeared vaseline all over! The oily skin leads to acne breakouts. My dermatologist has been treating the acne, but she says there’s really nothing I can do to control the oil. I find this hard to believe. I’ve tried toner, oil control lotions, moisturizers. But they do nothing to help control my face from getting so oily. Plus the fact that I have very sensitive skin doesn’t help. Any suggestions for a man’s face?

Is it really important to use a night cream taking in consideration that i am having an oily skin. Usually i use clean & clear washing before going to bed and enjoy my skin fresh and clean but others say that it’s very important to feed your skin with a nigh cream during sleeping hours … so is it true ?!! do i really need a night cream to have a healthy and good looking face ?

get your face wet with warm water this will open pores…then put lemon juice and a teaspoon of sugar on a pad or a cotton ball and then rub it on your face all over!!!!
