Q&A: How to not have a oily face ANYMORE?

Question by honor_c4: How to not have a oily face ANYMORE?
I have a oily face and I tried some ways, but I still have a oliy face. I have just some acne, like not too much and not too little. And when I wash my face, I use Cetaphil (Skin refreshment wash) for day, shower, and night. I ask my doctor what to do about it and she said just these face wips with some chemical in them. But I use them and it helps for about maximum 30 minutes, then it gets oily again. I drink about 5 cups of water about just about and I eat decently healthy, like not too much junk food, but some. So, basically is there a way to remove it all or atleast reduce the amount of oil on my face?
Thanks

Be thankful that you have an oily face, they wrinkle less.
When you are 50 years old, you will have nice skin, and all of your friends who don’t have oily faces right now will look like prunes.

If you have acne, then Accutane will dry your face and rid you of the acne, but it is a very expensive prescription drug with scary side effects.

Do not use any wipes with alcohol, because the rebound effect that will make your face even oilier, in a short time.

A mild soap, like Dove and water will clean your face and not lead to oily rebound problems.

Oil absorbing powder, available in compacts, or loose made with cornstarch will help keep the oil down during the day, and prevent shine.

Try to find a colorless powder because tinted foundation powders look phony and can streak.

Q&A: Origins or Clinique 3 Step System #4 for Oily Skin and acne?

Question by jlee05: Origins or Clinique 3 Step System #4 for Oily Skin and acne?
I have been using Origins Deep Down Scrub Cleanser and the Toner for Oily Skin. I LOVE the way these products make my skin feel, but they are doing absolutely NOTHING for my acne-prone skin. So I need to make a change.

Products with Salicylic Acid make me breakout in painful cystic acne so I can’t use anything with that in it and Benzoyl Peroxide seems to burn my skin. So I am trying to just use some good systems that don’t have those two chemicals in them. I am thinking of trying the Clinique 3 Step System number 4 because it is for oily skin. Need some opinions! Thanks!

Answer by Jaed1122
I think Clinique 3-Step is great. I have been using it since I was in my late teens. I would switch to another brand for some reason, but always return to Clinique. I am now thirty and my skin looks better than ever.

I think what makes Clinique unique is the Clarifying Lotion, which is somewhat like a toner. It is actually exfoliating everytime you use it, so you are getting all the dead skin cells off of the top layer of skin and the moisturizer is effective. Getting it off also helps to keep your pores open and unclogged, which has a lot to do with acne and pimples. I think that is what I needed when I would switch to other brands that didn’t have that.

I have oily skin, but never had too much of a problem with breakouts, other than monthly. It is always best to be on a system, though, and Clinique is good because it is dermotoligist and allergy tested, and they really aren’t that expensive. Clinique has kept my skin in pretty good shape, and when I do have a pimple, it isn’t bad at all.

I highly recommend it, but I would definitely talk to a rep in person or online. I know online they are offering discovery kits for each skin type for fifteen bucks. They are very good about returning products too, if it does not work for you. It doesn’t hurt to try at all.

Good luck.

Looking for skin care products for oily skin, preferably with natural ingredients.?

Question by AnimalLover<3: Looking for skin care products for oily skin, preferably with natural ingredients.?
I started a similar topic, but I feel I didn’t phrase my question in the best way. I’m a vegetarian primarily, with very oily skin, and I’ve been breaking out lately. Could anybody recommend me a system of products with preferably natural ingredients that would help my cause? I’ve tried apple cider vinegar, and that doesn’t work too well. What about witch hazel and aloe vera? I’m looking for products that do the following;
.Cleanse
.Tone/dry the skin (to get rid of blemishes)
.Moisturize

Any help would be very much appreciated.

clean and clear has what is called oil or blemish sheets.. they are thin like tissue paper and you just blot your face with them when ever you feel oily and they take it all away!! so small and convenient!! they work great. oh and a lil home secret.. i kno its weird.. but malox- the stomach and heartburn med.. in liquid form, use that on your face, it dries the oil right up. because its used to dry the upsetting acids in your stomach. it really works

Having an oily skin means that your skin has a better protection when it comes to natural aging. The oil produced by sebaceous glands under your skin moisturizes your skin and therefore does not let your skin to become dry and damaged. If you do not have a moustache it could be because of your genetics and having a moustache is not a mandatory need in a man’s life although you can implant hairs in your moustache area with surgery. I suspect because you have used too many creams and many of these creams contain chemicals that could actually not be good for your skin. There are natural remedies such as putting cucumber and yogurt on your skin but its hard to give you a clear answer since i have not seen your skin. You can talk to a dermatologist for the best answer on your problem.

Try using witch hazel as an astingent, 2-3 times a day.
Amazingly enough, you can also use Visine on pimples and
it dries them up, not immediately, with in a few days.
Changing your diet too can help.
Stay away from grease filled foods.
Good luck!

Best Drugstore Acne Cleanser for Oily Skin?

Question by Camille: Best Drugstore Acne Cleanser for Oily Skin?
I have had bad skin for about 3 years (I’m 14 now). I have tried the dermatologist and every brand under the sun (proactiv, neutrogena, clean & clear, clearisil, biore, you name it, i’ve tried it) and nothing seems to work. I’m going to try another drugstore cleanser, what do you recommend? I have very oily skin, I don’t have big pimples, but I have the little ones all over my face. Thanks for helping!

My brother had really bad acne for a long time and tried different things, even ones prescribed by dermatologists and they didn’t work. He now uses obaji and it has cleared up his skin dramatically. I use it sometimes too as I have mild acne and it helps keep my face clear. Hopefully this helps!
