For one, make sure you wash your face twice a day, once in the morning and once at night. You should treat your acne with a prescribed cream or gel from your doctor. Because the treatment might be drying to your skin, I recommend you use moisturize your skin despite the way that your skin is oily. I like to use Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel. You can also try the lotion version if you find the gel to drying.

  1. Wash face with warm water with soap and rinse with water of room temperature wipe dry (blot). Oily skin undergoes well washing with soap, any water, alcoholic solutions, wiping and massage rubbing with a towel. All this promotes good cleaning of skin and massage it. However washing with very hot water is not recommended: it promotes secretion of skin fat. It is necessary to wash skin with hot water only once a week, and after it rinse skin with cold water which narrows pores and reduces secretion of fats. If the skin right after washing becomes oily, it should be additionally wiped with lotion.
