good cleanser and moisturizer for oily skin, and occasional breakout?

Question by sweetygirl: good cleanser and moisturizer for oily skin, and occasional breakout?
I have REALLY oily skin. When i wake up in the morning and look in the miror my face is like a grease pan. Its so disgusting and that the main reason why i breakout because of the excess oil. I switched to neutrogena deep cleansing or whatever its called and it made my face even oiler. Neutrogena products just don’t work for me. I tried a lot of them. Does anyone know a good, fair price, cleanser that helps oil and occasional breakouts? oh and a good, light, oil free moisturizer? thanks!

Olive Oil Sugar Scrub.

Ingredients

-3 tablespoons of EXTRA Virgin Olive Oil – Must be extra virgin.

-1/2 cup of Granulated Sugar

-2 tablespoons of Honey – Any honey is fine, and if you are allergic to honey, DO NOT use it! Substitute it with aloe vera.

Mix it all together in a plastic container with a lid (that way you can save the rest for next time).

The mixture should not be too liquidy, oily or grainy. It should feel mushy, depending on what honey, sugar or olive oil you have. It should have a mushy consistency.

Wash your face with your regular cleansers.

Then apply this mixture on your face, evenly exfoliating your skin. The sugar will remove dead skin cells and the olive oil and honey will nourish your skin keeping it moisturized. I say leave this treatment on for 2 minutes.

Wash your face with warm water.

Pay dry and treat and moisturize your face.

Your skin should not feel slippery or oily, if it does you added way too much olive oil. It should feel soft and moisturized. You should automatically see a glow in your skin due to the honey and olive oil.

What skin care product is good for dry and oily skin?

Question by Tiffanie: What skin care product is good for dry and oily skin?
Can anyone suggest a skin care product that is effect in helping with dry and oily skin and also acne? I’ve tried Shiseido and a Taiwanese brand Jusei Beauty but they don’t really work well. Not something too expensive though please. Something I could buy at like Target or Walmart would be the best. Thanks!

I have combination skin and the thing I’ve found that works best is witch hazel.

It’s not expensive, either, about $ 3 or $ 4 for a bottle. It smells kind of like honey while it is wet, then nothing once it’s dry.

It helps moisturize the dry areas and control the oily areas. I like it quite a bit, especially for the money, plus it is all natural.

What are good skin products for oily skin?

Question by ☆BB☆: What are good skin products for oily skin?
As of late, it seems as though my skin has been breaking out more than usual. (I’m also Asian, by the way, if that helps.) I currently use Proactive, but I feel like it’s not helping me that much. I don’t have heavy pimples/acne, just little ones in the T-zone.

I’ve been stressing lately, which could be affecting my skin. Also, not getting proper amounts of sleep doesn’t help, right? It gets really oily…My dad was like, “Are you sweaty?” I said, “No…just oily…*wah*”

What can I do and use to help my skin? (Are there Asian skin products I should use perhaps?)

Can you see a dermatologist? If not, you can ask in a section of the dept. store where they sell all sorts of skin products, you know in a place where the sales-person helps people with that kind of thing. They have this service at Capwell’s in Richmond, CA for instance.

Good ways to treat oily, sensitive skin?

Question by FlyersFan28: Good ways to treat oily, sensitive skin?
I’m entering into my second year of high school and last year my skin problems got really bad. I got acne all over my cheeks and it was awful. I was so self conscious, and then my skin got SUPER oily. I hate feeling like I’m the only girl who ever has to worry about this. It had never been like this, and I know its just hormones, but it’s bad. My make-up would run off my face by 3rd period and I constantly had to re-do it. I went to the dermatologist and he gave me Retin-A and some pills to take, and my skin isn’t nearly as oily, and my acne is much better, but it’s still pretty embarrassing and it’s a hassle. I use cold water to close pores, use oil-free moisturizer, and after I put on make-up, I dab baby powder on shiny spots. Now my skin also gets very dry and irritated very easily, so are there any ways to minimize oily skin that wont harm it? Freshman year did not go as smoothly as I had hoped and I just felt like my skin was holding me back from feeling beautiful and having some confidence.

A deficiency in vitamin A, potassium, vitamin B6, and zinc causes acne. you can get your nutrient levels for these nutrients checked out. the nurse will take a blood test to see if you’re low in any of them. once you know which ones you are low in, take a supplement for that particular nutrient. acne has everything to do with what you eat and how much water you drink! so make sure you’re eating healthy (mostly vegetables and greens) and drink plenty of water throughout the day.

I am oily in the T-zone and get mild acne on my forehead and sometimes on my chin area. I also tend to get scars and dont know how to get rid of them (mostly small red dots). What would be a good face cleanser, toner, etc. that will help clear my skin, prevent acne, and also give me beautiful healthy skin? Nothing to expensive. Something reasonable that works.

Once a day take 1/3 cup uncooked oat and in a blender pulverize them into a powder. Then add water a little less than 1/3 cup so that it becomes the consistency of paste. Apply the paste to your problem areas, leave this shooting and healing mush on until it dries up and starts crumbling off. Wash it all off with tepid water.

Using a juice extractor, juice one cucumber. With a pastry brush, apply the cucumber juice to the trouble spots (acne) leave it on for a least 15 minutes, then wash off with tepid water, Do this daily.

A good moisturizer for oily skin?

Question by Emma: A good moisturizer for oily skin?
I need a good moisturizer that will actually sink into my skin and moisturize it while it doesn’t make my face look gross. I’ve tried some, but all they do is just sit on skin and make it look extra oily and sometimes even make me breakout. If you could recommend some moisturizers I would really appreciate it!

For good skin try these three products which are not expensive.

-Cetaphil cleanser for normal to oily skin.
-Neutrogena Clear Pore astringent (or any salicylic acid preparation)
-benzoyl peroxide 10% cream.

Here is the rationale behind them: Oil and bacteria are the main causes of acne. Hormones play a lesser role. You can do something about the oil and bacteria with treatments. Try to not get stressed out because that can cause hormonal fluctuations.

1. Cetaphil cleanser doesn’t over-dry your skin like a lot of acne soaps do. Over-drying makes the skin produce MORE oil, so acne gets worse in the long run. Cetaphil cleanser sets skin at the right PH

2. The astringent has salicylic acid in it and this can help by slightly drying and disinfecting problem areas.

3. A benzoyl peroxide cream is available over the counter in a prescription strength nowadays. A few companies make it. Apply a thin amount to breakouts with a q-tip. This keeps bacteria lower in both the tube and on the pimple.

Is A Wrinkle Cream Good For Oily Skin?

Article by Louise Forrest

Using a wrinkles cream lotion is great for oily skin. People with oily skin who only use a cleanser and skip a moisturizer are making a big mistake.

Some are thick and add a greasy shine to the skin, Women with oily skin, of course, should avoid these formulas. Skin naturally produces certain oils to maintain a healthy surface. Washing your face too frequently just produces more oil.

And, if you neglect using lotions, your skin will not remain supple and healthy over time. To begin with, knowing you have oily skin immediately limits your choices. Using a good skin care lotion is good for everyone, including women with oily skin. If your skin is oily or you have combination skin, take control with oily skin care before the trouble escalates. We all want to have beautiful, clear skin.

Oil is important for moisturizing the skin, and you can take comfort from knowing that oily skin delays wrinkling, age spots, and fine lines, and sebaceous glands become less active as we age. Oily skin care treatments involve taking steps to keep pores from getting clogged and blemishes from appearing.

The treatment for oily skin should start internally. A lack of vitamin B2 will actually cause oily skin. Primrose oil (500 milligrams) and flaxseed oil (1,000 milligrams) are both very beneficial for the skin.

Keep oily skin very clean so that pores do not become clogged and cause breakouts. Moisturizers for oily skin might contain antiseptic or simply be oil-free.

Effective treatment for oily skin involves cleansing, moisturizing, and protecting your skin with products created to provide oily skin solutions. Some people say having oily skin is actually a blessing in disguise. This thought cannot be completely ruled out because oily skin is less susceptible to wrinkles but they face frustrating skin problems like pimples and blackheads.

The oily skin looks dull because it attracts dirt and bacteria more easily. There are many skin care products available in the markets that are very effective in helping to provide relief to this particular skin ailment. The basic principle behind all oily skin care products is that they absorb excess oils from the surface of the skin as well as being able to offer other benefits to the skin.

Alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) when applied regularly on oily skin provides the best results. Skin products that comprise substances such as cocoa butter and mineral oils are too emollient for the condition of oily skin. As diet plays an important role in the treatment of oily skin, avoid oily junk foods and drink plenty of water daily.

Oily skin is usually vulnerable to acne problems. The excessive oil secretion mixes up with dead cells and blocks the skin pores, resulting in bacterial activation. This causes swelling and inflammation of the skin.

Acne is caused by the oily condition of the skin. It is important to wash the face and other affected areas with a cleanser specifically for oily skin. Excessive scrubbing should be avoided, because it could cause damage to the skin.

Antibacterial skin lotions reduce the amount of bacteria on your skin. These skin lotions mostly comprise of Benzoyl Peroxide, which is a major antibacterial agent. It depends on certain factors including the patients’ acne condition, skin type, and sex. Oral medications are sometimes prescribed to kill bacteria which affect the skin.
