Treatment for guys with oily skin?

Question by nr08: Treatment for guys with oily skin?
I’m 16 and my skin gets really oily. Is there anything i can use to help or prevent the oiliness?

Answer by Andie
Cleanse, tone, and moisturize.

When you strip your skin of moisture it goes into overdrive cranking out more oil. Try using a gentle cleaner, preferably one without any detergents (SLS) no more than twice a day. Use a gentle alcohol free toner. Witch hazel is a good inexpensive toner. Then follow with a oil free lotion. This is the most important step. It is actually more important to moisturize oily skin than dry. The lotion will tell your skin it has enough moisture and you will not produce as much oil.

There are also face products that contain clay to absorb extra oil.

I’ve used Clinique in the past (Nordstrom); I personally think it’s a waste of ur money… Oily skin is great to have, it keeps u younger looking longer. If you have acne, then go to a doctor

What is the best product for a GUY’s oily face?

Question by celticdiablo: What is the best product for a GUY’s oily face?
I have read some similiar questions that dealt with women’s oily skin, but as a guy, I am not going to wear foundation. I used to have severe acne as a teenager, but now that I’m older, the acne has dropped considerably to more of a mild form. However, my skin is grossly oily and I have not been able to find something that controls it all day. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have been contemplating the Proactiv solution, but if something exists cheaper and just as effective, I would much rather go that route. Thanks in advance for all the help!

Have you gone to see a dermatologist? It might be that you need something stronger than those over-the-counter medicines/cleansers. If not, then just try different ones until you find the one that works best for you!
