HOW TO: STOP OILY SKIN!!!!

Oily skin – the bane of my life for most of my childhood up until i was about 30. Dealing with oily skin can be tricky but it can be controlled. I know people don’t always agree but stopping overloading the skin with excess moisturisers can go a long way to stopping this. Oily skin has its own moisture – and lots of it – so adding more isn’t necessary. If you want to moisturise your skin – use serums as these are less emollient. Milk of magnesium is great for controlling oily skin. Worn as a face mask, rinsed off – can stop oily skin for hours and hours and hours. For VERY oily skin it can be left on, then foundation applied over. BE WARNED – milk of magnesium can be drying – so you don’t want to go too far with this – let you skin be your guide. I found that many dermatologist also recommend milk of magnesium for controlling oily skin 🙂 And lots of shine control products also have this in the ingredient list. 🙂 Wayne

  1. I have really oily skin but have to use sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 for acne . Most sunblocks look really white on my tanned skin. Is there a product you would recommend to control the oil but with a high enough SPF?

  3. I have oily skin, especially in summer! Makeup just melts off in the summer, but sometimes, mostly the winter I get dry spots around my cheeks or mouth, small red flaky patches, how do I control the super super dry patches without making the rest of my face and oil slick?

  4. I love your makeup videos and tutorials!!! I commend you for what you do and for your bravery. You inspired me to do more in with learning more about makeup and etc. I also suffer from oily skin too, and ive been struggling to reduce and finding a way of treating it. 5. The thing is, for me at least, is if I don’t put on moisturizer, my skin be comes extremely dry, even though I have really oily skin. Then, since my face is dry my face produces even more oil to try and moisturize it, and the oil is what clogs your pores. So, you need to moisturize your skin regardless so your skin doesn’t produce excess oil, clogging your pores. I use natural moisturizer and it works great

  6. Wayne, for those of us in the UK, where can we buy unflavoured Milk of Magnesium from? I’ve been searching high and low but can only find mint flavoured

  7. @loobsy1 it’s horrible isn’t it, I’ve been searching for plain MOM too but can only find mint flavoured. We’ll probably have to resort to buying it from overseas 🙁 unless Wayne wants to open an online shop or tell us where he gets his MOM from!

  8. @esztier you could try just dabbing MOM on the areas that get oily and avoid applying it to the dry areas that don’t need oil control
