Best product I’ve come across and had success with is Arbonne’s Clear Advantage. It’s Ph Correct, all good ingredients which are safe and clears acne right up! It works, period and it doesn’t dry out the skin, it makes it healthy. All Arbonne products come with 45 day guarantee too. It’s the only acne line I allow my children to use because it’s safe. ProActive and others contain bleach and harmful chemicals. Anything you put on your skin is absorbed into bloodstream in 26 secs – so you want it to be safe and beneficial.
Hope I could help – I just love the line!

  1. Hi Ayesha,
The best solution to get rid of pimples is to have lots and lots of water and try to clean your face regularly with a face wash which is soap free.. try to use a face wash which has tree oil and am sure this works out for you.

  2. I am 26 and have incredibly oily skin as well. I have found that using benzalkonium chloride (I get the Band Aid brand antiseptic wash in a blue bottle) as an astringent once a day or every other day helps more than anything. Also prescription BenzaClin which combines the antibiotic clindamycin and benzoyl peroxide helps as well.
Germs cause acne and they thrive in oil and sweat. Both these products eliminate the germs but can cause dry skin.
Notice next time you are on anitbiotics for something that you skin will be more clear, but also more dry.

  3. This is a much bigger question than most give it credit to be. See, a common misconception about acne is that it’s ‘a normal part of life caused by raging hormones, genetically oily skin, etc.’. There’s the problem right there. ACNE IS NOT NORMAL. Acne is a signal that your body is in a state of constant inflammation, so much so that it shows up on your face. What is this inflammation caused by (this, by the way, is quite a superficial explanation of all of this, but it’s a Yahoo! answers answer, so bleh)? It’s caused by your body constantly having to deal with bombardment against your immune system. You’re damn unhealthy, and that’s it. If you eat any of these foods regularly, I’ll bet you’re pretty unhealthy:
    -Wheat
    -Refined sugars
-Fatty meat (red meat in particular)
-Refined and processed foodstuffs (that’s about 90% of the supermarket’s goods… so you’re not really to blame all that much)
    -Normal western diet food, haha

Here’s a quick chain reaction in your body which produces acne:
-You eat a meal high in saturated fats
-Your blood fat content rises drastically (higher fat content in the blood inhibits the function of insulin, fyi)
-You then eat a meal high in fast absorbing refined sugar, which shoots up your insulin levels (high insulin levels have been shown to have a direct correlation with acne). But even moreso, because of all the fat in your blood, insulin levels need to be even HIGHER than normal.
-After doing this many times, your body needs to use backup systems to keep its blood sugar levels at a non-lethal levels as it’s stressed itself to the max. of its capabilities.
-Candida in your intestines (a floral bacteria present in everyone) thrives off sugar, and begins eating the excess sugar you eat, and thus start to overgrow. Go search “Candida” on google, these buggers are terrible when they overgrow. Symptoms of candida overgrowth include a decreased production in a hormone which SEPERATES SKIN CELLS AS THEY DIE (and so they get bunched together as they die), and an increase in androgens which increase sebum (oil) production on your face. This is a usual cause of acne. Also, they cause many other problems such as depression, low self esteem, crappy attitude, tiredness, blah blah blah.

    Man I’m tired….

Anyways, point is, diet is directly linked to acne. If you don’t believe this… agh. I used to suffer from severe acne, tried all the acne products, went through that whole terrible battle, and the CURE for acne is simply to become more healthy. Be it through eating well, exercising, getting out in the sun (though not enough to burn or anything), being happy, even breathing well. I’m sorry for the fragmented response, but I’m really damn tired… if you want a whole shpiel on the subject that WILL actually ‘cure your acne’ and all that blah, just send me an IM or whatever system they have for Yahoo! answers. Acne sucks.
