the J&J moisturizer became oily after a while for me too (i no longer use it), then I started using the Cetaphil one, and the first days were ok, but then it became oily as well. But I realized i was gradually using more and more moisturizer every night. You have to remember to use just a little drop. A little goes a long way. Anything in large amounts will hurt your skin. I still use the Cetaphil, but i use a very small amount and it works great!

LOL No problem! When I use the mask as a spot treatment, I do leave it on all night. I put it on about 15 min. before going to bed, that way it will be dry by the time i get in bed. Salicylic is so harsh. Honestly i stopped believing in it a while back. I kept breaking out while using it, and when i stopped, my skin actually started to improve. I think the key to good skin is just to not pick on it, and not to use to much of a product, even if it is “gentle”.

Sleep is really important if you want to have clear skin. Skin repairs itself at night! And stress is skin’s worst enemy. I know its hard not to stress, but find a hobby that will help you shake all that stress away. Aerobics help a lot! Or just get in front of a mirror and dance like I do!! haha I really do that!

  4. @HaleyRoz wah I actually have 2 more questions–does the J&J dual treatment moisturizer ever leave your skin greasy or shiny after a while? (Or even the cetaphil moisturizer? because I use the ultra-calming moisturizer with spf 15 from aveeno and it leaves my face literally after applying it like I dipped my face in a bag of fast food and grease or something lol). Also, how do you store the bar soap in a way so that it doesn’t gather bacteria or something like that while sitting?

  5. @HaleyRoz also, sorry for spamming up this video with my comments lol D: when you use the mint julep mask as a spot treatment, is it alright to leave it on over night? I’ve been using salicylic acid spot treatments for the longest time and I honestly think that it causes my face to secrete more oil while I sleep because it’s so harsh for my skin. But I will deffo try this out, it seems perfect! You should be like, a dermatologist or makeup artist or something haha~

  6. @HaleyRoz aw, that’s epic! I think the cause for me acne is just my super oily skin, not using anything with spf because I’m usually out when the sun’s at its brightest, and stress/really getting poor sleep 🙁 I really believe in the most gentle products too like stuff with green tea, but watching this, and remembering Johnson & Johnson products how they’re gentle enough for even babies makes me want to try it even more because I hate how lots of products have some sort of irritation

I really hope it does help you! Let me tell you the story behind the reason why I even started using this bar.
One of cousins who lives in a pueblo in Mexico had very irritated skin and would break out because of the sand storms they often have… One day, one of my aunts who lives in the same pueblo decided to visit the U.S. and while here, she purchased the bar for my cousin. The were surprised how the bar cleared her skin. Now, on every visit, they take a couple of bars with them.

  8. @HaleyRoz alrighty! Thanks girly:) hahaha, I felt like the liquid cleanser just foamed on my face, it really didn’t do much at all lol, but I’ve been breaking out so horribly lately and things I’ve used to use that sort of worked stopped working suddenly. I want to hide from the world:( hopefully it works! And I like your routine! Thanks~

I would definitely recommend it! I tried the liquid cleanser first, but felt like it wasn’t completely washing away all the dirt/makeup. But when I tried the bar soap, I felt like my skin was cleaner and most important, It helped me with my breakouts… I would say give it a shot! I work so different from the liquid cleanser!

  10. Would you recommend the Johnson & Johnson Purpose Gentle Cleansing Bar as a cleanser for someone who has oily and acne prone skin? I’ve used the liquid/gel version of the cleanser years ago lol, but it left my face feeling super dry~ I heard good things about the bar though

not sure… why dont you try a treatment with virgin olive oil? I heard its great for that. You could probably use it every wee until you see some difference?

I did that for a few weeks while i found the perfect night cream for my skin, and nothing bad happened. So If you dont have a night cream for now, I think its ok. But you may want to look for a night cream. Night times is the time to put something rich with powerful ingredients to restore, benefit, and moisturize your skin.
