Your Sunscreen pick for acne prone skin?

Question by : Your Sunscreen pick for acne prone skin?
Hi, I have oily skin that is prone to acne, what is your choice of sunscreen for this type of skin? I heard Neutrogena is quite good

Best answer:

Answer by naomi
neutrogena is expensive and in my opinion, the hype is marketing. not that it’s useless, but doesn’t really do what it says and it’s really expensive for no reason. i recommend teeka tan lotions and sunscreens. i have a friend that owns a drugstore in miami who recommended this – i have sensitive skin. he told me that it’s the fragrance that can cause issues and that teeka tan has low fragrance. don’t know if that was it but since i’ve been using it i haven’t had any big breakouts like i used to get after using banana boat. been using it for years and i love teeka tan stuff. found a good site on web to get it for cheap – drugstore.com. i use spf 15, my husband uses 30. and their lip balm is amazing…love it.

Article by Jannie Head

Some people have dry skin. Some have oily skin. Then there are those unfortunate souls who have the whole smorgasbord of skin defects on one face. If you’re one of them, you might have looked up this article because you were tired of ineffective skin treatments. Those with combination skin have special skin needs, so they require face washes that treat all of their skin maladies. What this particular article will do is tell you about all of the components of your skin type as well as tips for finding the best face wash.

Best Face Wash for That Oily Crap On Your Face

No one likes oil. They don’t like it in the Gulf Coast. Surely, they didn’t like it off the Alaskan coastline in the 1980s. Who wants it on their skin? Something a savvy girl like yourself should know: unless you’re pregnant, a sheen emanating from your face is not a good thing. So what’s a girl to do about the Valdez on her skin?

What you need is acid! No, not the hallucinogen. Salicylic acid is an ingredient that is an important addition in facial cleansers for oily skin. Salicylic acid is touted as safe to use on combination skin by dermatologists.

Best Face Wash for Those Sahara Patches

If you have dry skin, you know how the constant itching and unattractive spots on your face are annoying and embarrassing. Those with combination skin can commiserate about parts of their face feeling rougher than an African desert. Again, not a good look. Or feel.

An unfortunate downside to having dry skin is that a lot of the chemicals in cleansers irritate our beautiful faces. Darn. Girls, please get a face wash that will give you that highly welcomed moisture right where you need it the most. No more dry spots for you!

Tips for Finding the Best Face Wash for the Combination Skin Type

Two ingredients that should be in the next face wash you buy are lavender and tea tree oil. These ingredients provide a crucial balance for all of the impurities that occur with the different skin types on your face. Both ingredients are also soothing on your skin. Nice.

Play with different face washes before deciding on your personal favorite. The one you choose for your face should not irritate your skin or dry it out. It should also, um, clean your face.

Looking for the best face wash for combination skin doesn’t have to involve poring over ingredient lists in the cleanser aisle for hours. Once you know what to look for and are willing to experiment a little, you should have a favorite in no time at all.
