What sunscreen is best for oily acne prone skin?

Question by Amber: What sunscreen is best for oily acne prone skin?
I live in Arizona where the sun seems to always be shining. I want to do what I can to protect my skin from the UV rays, but everytime I where sunscreen I break out really bad. I have super oily skin and always break out if I put something on it that it doesn’t agree with. Any suggestions on the best sunscreen for me? Thanks!

Find one that is oil free. I think there is one by neutrogena that is oil free but not sure. I have seen it at Wal-Mart. But I’m sure it will be at any drugstore or other store chain. Also try Zinc-Oxide. I can’t think of the name but it comes in a small round container like maybe as wide as a soda can but only 2 inches tall. That might work for you as well if you haven’t already tried it:)

  1. You should try Banana Boat Faces Plus Oil-Free Sunblock SPF 23. I’m not totally sure if it’ll give you a “matte finish” but it won’t leave your skin looking oily. It won’t clog your pores either, so there’s a smaller chance that you’ll get break outs from it

  2. Since you have oily skin, it is recommended that you look for “physical blocker” sunscreen. The active ingredients in physical blockers are titanium oxide and zinc oxide. They are preferred for people with oily skin because they are non-greasy. Some popular brands are Banana Boat, Blue Lizard and Shiseido.
