Q&A: How to get rid of my oily skin?

Question by Kayla Etheridge: How to get rid of my oily skin?
My face gets oily a lot, and I have tried many things to get rid of it but I never succed…I don’t get acne or blackheads on my face but my pores are pretty big and I think that’s why everytime I wash my face it doesn’t take long for it to get oily again?! Can someone please tell me how to minimize my pores and get rid of my oily skin?

  1. I have the same problem. My skin is terribly oily and it’s obnoxious. I recently purchased a product from Sephora called Murad Oil-Control Mattifier and it has worked wonders for me! I wash my face in the morning, apply my moisturizer, and then I apply this mattifying treatment on top of it. My face stays matte the entire day. I really recommend this product. It is a bit pricey, but it’s worth it! Plus, it has SPF 20 in it which is an extra bonus.

  2. If you add more oil your body will think its producing oil and will stop your skin from become even more oily. Does that make sense?

3 years ago I bought a bottle of extra virgin olive oil. My skin was always oily , large pores and pimples . I even got teased in school about my shiny nose. 🙁

Back to the olive oil. After two weeks of using it on my skin night I noticed my skin becoming less oily during the day. Today my skin acts like “normal” skin.

Sorry for the long story . I encourage you to try olive oil for a week and you should see a difference!!
