I used this product after developing some skin pigmentations as a result of use of oral contraceptives. Big mistake. I trusted Palmer’s because I recognized the brand and because of the lower hydroquinone percentage (2 versus 4 like some of the ‘bootlegged’ creams). Almost immediately after I put the cream on I had an allergic reaction – a tightness in my chest and a lightheadedness. At first I thought it was my imagination but then I googled possible side effects and sure enough, those two were listed. I took some Benadryl but not before worrying excessively that perhaps my need to look a certain way compromised my health. I learned my lesson adn will live with my brown spots! It’s not worth it – even if the side effects may be rare (but I gotta tell you, I do not have a lot of allergies and my skin is not that sensitive).

I understand that there are people with allergies to certain ingredients in this product. I am not allergic to hydroquinone and Skin Success fade cream worked on my skin. I am African American (I’m really of Trinidadian descent. But I was born and raised in the United States) I say all of that simply because my descendants come from a tropical island where our complexions are typically smooth and even toned because of the consistent sunshine. I live in Chicago where it is very very cold and not very sunny most of the time. My complexion was bland as a result of this and I use this cream to brighten and even my skin tone. I am naturally dark skinned with oily T zone area (nose and forehead shine a bit more than most folks) That’s why I like the formula for oily skin because it doesn’t leave a greasy film… I also like their FADE MILK prodct (best yet in my opinion). Another product I’ve used with success is a brand called ARTA Skin Tone Cream with Antioxidants and Vitamins with Aloe Vera for Oily skin. This product gave me speedy results I needed when it got really hot and sunny last year. It got rid of the uneven tan I got from standing in the sun for hours in uniform. I used it and saw results within LESS than 2 weeks. As for the Fade Milk I saw results just as quickly too, Less than 2 weeks. I used it every day. Once in morning and once at night. All three of the products I am recommending work very well for me. I especially liked the Fade Milk. But remember, I am not allergic to hydroquinone. If you are allergic to it then try something else like products that have homosalate or oxybenzone. Im not a scientist but those are the active ingredients in the ARTRA Skin Tone Cream.. but it as hydroquinone as well. So maybe some other product that has only homosalate and/or oxybenzone and not hydroquinone might help. Either way I GIVE THIS PRODUCT 5 STARS BECAUSE I HAD GREAT RESULTS.
