Answer by lakecity21
I have very oily skin. You need to keep it moisturized or it will get oilier. At one time I was moisterizing it with baby oil because I saw an article in a magazine about it. It didn’t clear up my skin but, it didn’t make it worse.

oily skin?

Question by Kate B: oily skin?
my skin gets terribly oily throughout the day. (i do have acne)
i wear powder/mineral makeup. but my skin still gets shiny and oily.
i dont have much time to go in the bathroom and fix it, either
plz help?

Best answer:

Answer by Annetheana
Consider a simple fix. Carry either wipes that will remove the oil or even a kleenex to “mop up” the excessive oil that may build up throughout the day.

Anything that keeps the excess oil off of your skin will also help improve its appearance.

Will birth control pills cause oily skin?

Question by Jennifer: Will birth control pills cause oily skin?
I have NEVER IN MY LIFE had oily skin. I started Norinyhl (sp?) exactly one week ago, and the last three days, I’ve noticed my skin is oily as fuck! I just showered and washed my face too! It’s disgusting! What can I do to get rid of this problem?

Best answer:

Answer by Carrie
Well I’d definitely tell your doctor. Perhaps there is a correlation, and they can switch you to something else. In the mean time…here’s my oily skin regimen.

Try some African black soap, I got mine from Amazon. Then use witch hazel toner, and jojoba oil to moisturize, just two drops will do your whole face.
For makeup,  I use the Valley Girl foundation from L.A. Minerals, and I put their oil control powder over it. My skin is like perfectly clear since I started using this combination of products 😉

Acne treatment for oily acne prone skin?

Question by Nicki: Acne treatment for oily acne prone skin?
I have oily acne prone skin and i need a good face wash or at home treatment that i can do. I breakout or get acne around my mouth and chin and sometimes on my cheeks. I hate it and I’ve had it for a long time now. I went to my doctor and she gave me some stuff for it, but it doesn’t work and I’ve been using that for almost a year. I tried proactive and it did nothing for me. I need some suggestions on what i can do or use to clear up my face. The sooner the better. Thanks 🙂

Answer by James
Hi Nicki! I would suggest you get a Quinoderm 5 face wash from your local pharmacy and use it 2-3 times a day. It works best once lathered on the affected area and rinsed with ice cold water. You will feel fresh and start noticing a difference as from the 1st or 2nd week. Also note that there are various natural treatments that you can follow and listed in this video are a few of the most effective ones; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNxM8NtKGhM. Hope to have answered your question and all the best.

How to get rid of my oily skin?

Question by Arvin: How to get rid of my oily skin?
I’m just the average teenager who gets acne on my forehead and some on my nose, but it also comes with oil. I always wash my skin morning and night, but it doesn’t help much. I don’t want to have to keep washing my face in the bathroom at school to get rid of this oily skin. I’d like to hear what other people who had this problem have done and if it helps. And whats the best skin product i can use, too? Please and thank you.

Q&A: What are some good cleansers for your skin?

Question by awesome: What are some good cleansers for your skin?
I do not really have PIMPLES on my skin but i do get them. I want a cleanser for oily skin but my skin is normal. Do you know any?

Best answer:

Answer by jandy
dove soap, avoid, tricosan, deodorant or perfumed soaps and avoid antibacterial soaps. dove is a moisturizing soap and is good for makeup removal and oily skin. don’t use soaps/cleanser for oily skin, it dries them out and make it produce more oil. the teenage years, you just have more oily skin and hair., that’s all.

How do you know if you have sensitive skin?

Question by ǝıʇɐʞ: How do you know if you have sensitive skin?
I was at the mall with my mom and a skin care specialist dude stopped us and said ‘Oh you must have a hard time finding products for your sensitive skin!’ And I always thought I had pretty resilient, oily skin. But do I actually have sensitive skin? How can you tell?

Best answer:

Answer by Jade
Sometimes skin care people who stop you with their little carts, are just looking for business.
The only way you can really tell what kind of skin you have is if you wake up in the morning everyday and deal with it yourself. If you find you have pain with exfoliants or simple cleansers, then it is possible you have sensitive skin. If this really concerns you, you should set up an appt. with a dermatologist. 🙂

Olive Oil Sugar Scrub.

Ingredients

-3 tablespoons of EXTRA Virgin Olive Oil – Must be extra virgin.

-1/2 cup of Granulated Sugar

-2 tablespoons of Honey – Any honey is fine, and if you are allergic to honey, DO NOT use it! Substitute it with aloe vera.

Mix it all together in a plastic container with a lid (that way you can save the rest for next time).

The mixture should not be too liquidy, oily or grainy. It should feel mushy, depending on what honey, sugar or olive oil you have. It should have a mushy consistency.

Wash your face with your regular cleansers.

Then apply this mixture on your face, evenly exfoliating your skin. The sugar will remove dead skin cells and the olive oil and honey will nourish your skin keeping it moisturized. I say leave this treatment on for 2 minutes.

Wash your face with warm water.

Pay dry and treat and moisturize your face.

Your skin should not feel slippery or oily, if it does you added way too much olive oil. It should feel soft and moisturized. You should automatically see a glow in your skin due to the honey and olive oil.

What skin care product is good for dry and oily skin?

Question by Tiffanie: What skin care product is good for dry and oily skin?
Can anyone suggest a skin care product that is effect in helping with dry and oily skin and also acne? I’ve tried Shiseido and a Taiwanese brand Jusei Beauty but they don’t really work well. Not something too expensive though please. Something I could buy at like Target or Walmart would be the best. Thanks!

Best answer:

Answer by Willow
I have combination skin and the thing I’ve found that works best is witch hazel.

It’s not expensive, either, about $ 3 or $ 4 for a bottle. It smells kind of like honey while it is wet, then nothing once it’s dry.

It helps moisturize the dry areas and control the oily areas. I like it quite a bit, especially for the money, plus it is all natural.

Wash your face every morning and night and moisturise thoroughly afterwards. Exfoliation is good. If you have a fringe, keep it clean and off your face. Never touch your face (ever). Avoid oily foods (like fish and fast foods).

First, look at your routine habits: Avoid staying up too late on a consistant basis, reduce stress, and bath in the evenings to wash away sweat you may have obtained during the day. If you need to wash in the morning, make it short and concentrate on your face.

If that does not work after a few weeks, look at your diet. Fast foods and sodas contribute to zits. Eat healthy.

If all else fails after a few weeks, consult a doctor.

Answer by Andrea Bartholomew
I have oily skin that is prone to breakouts too, so I completely get where you are coming from! I’ve just recently started washing my face using the oil cleansing method, and I can’t believe how much it has helped my skin! I know, I know. It does sound a bit odd applying oil to oily skin, but it has actually made my skin LESS oily.

This is what has worked for me.

All you need is extra-virgin olive oil (EVOO) and castor oil.

Next you will add 3 parts Castor oil to 1 part EVOO. (ex: 3 tablespoons of Castor oil to 1 tablespoon EVOO), and combine the oils in a small bottle and shake to mix.

Now it’s time to purge those pores with these simple steps:

1. Start with a dry face.
2. Pour a quarter sized amount into your palm and rub your hands together.
3. Apply the oil mixture to your skin.
4. Slowly and gently massage your skin with your finger tips.
5. Wet a washcloth with hot water, and put it on your face letting it cool to room temperature.
6. Remove the wash cloth and gently wipe off the oil.
7. Tone and moistuize skin with your favorite natural toner ( I use apple cider vinegar mixed with equal parts of water- this is good for oil and acne too!) and moisturizer.

You’ll only need to do this once per day. I do it right before bedtime. In the morning I just use a witch hazel toner (good for acne and oily skin) or the apple cider vinegar mixture to refresh my skin and remove any oil that might have popped up overnight.

This has also done a really good job at drying up any breakouts I had. If you have any stubborn breakouts, consider trying Burt’s Bee’s Herbal Blemish Stick. I’ve had really good results with that product for breakouts in the past. Good luck! I hope this helps you as much as it has helped me!
