Every year when the weather gets warmer, my face gets really oily to the point where I can stick a sheet of paper to my face. I was wondering if anyone has remedies for oily skin. No matter how much I wash my face, I have a shine to it.

i’ve tried a sample of cosmedicine medi matte and i am quite impressed, i think i may buy the whole tube despite the expensive price. is the body shop tea tree oil blemish fade night lotion good for oily skin? or something from kiehls maybe. and any good oil absorbing makeup? thankss

Even though your skin is oily it must be moisturized. Choose a lotion without natural oils such as luberderm. Also, do not wash your face too much or too hard. This just makes your skin produce more oils to make up for the removing of too many cell layers. Powdered make up is much better than cream or oilly make ups. Vitamins may also help such as Vitamin A, Zinc, Fiber, Chromium, Vitamin B6. Avoid dairy, sugar and high carb foods. Also, Proactiv really does work with dry, oilly, and acned up skin. Also, try some homemade facials such as apple, oatmeal, and yogurt for 10 – 15 minutes and rub in cirular motion off.

I need suggestions to help get rid of oily facial skin? I have tried st ives facial wash and that dries out my skin. I have tried clean n clear,noxema,dove soap, neutrogena, and I still have not had any good results. I don’t have acne or any blemishes ..just oily skin. Any suggestions would be great!

Oily skin is not necessarily a bad thing – think about it – how many ads do you see about products for lubricating skin, getting rid of wrinkles, looking younger etc – it’s all about getting oil back into skin that’s been stripped of it.
Oily skin helps prevent lines and wrinkles, just keep it clean and learn to live with it. And don’t smoke – that’s definitely bad.

I have a lot of dark spots on my skin and a ton of horrible tan lines I hate tanning, I am about jessica alba’s complexion when I am not tan, but I want a fairer clearer complexion. I am currently exfoliating 3x a week and using skincare with kojic acid and arbutin, and using lots of sunblock. I take collagen drinks and pomegranate extract and eat a healthy diet. Do I just need to be patient? Do you have any tips for me?

if you’re naturally tan, then there is no way you can achieve porcelain skin without causing serious harm to your body. I’m VERY pale, but have a lot of freckles and acne scars show up a lot worse on my skin because it’s so light, so I wash my face with lemon juice about once every week or two to bleach them out. Don’t do this if you have sensitive skin though, I have a fairly high pain tolerance and sometimes it can burn quite badly if you have even a small open sore on your face, it also dries your skin quite a bit so you should only leave it on for a little while (I have extremely oily skin so I put it on my face at night then wash it off in the morning)
I’ve also heard of washing your face with cream or something, I’m not sure if that works.
In the Victorian Era, women used to get bled so they could achieve a paler complexion, I wouldn’t recommend that, but you could follow some of the other things they did, cover yourself when you go outdoors and do your best to stay in the shade (they used a parasol, but I doubt you would be willing to do that)

I have a very oily face and i am allergic to all the face wash,face cleansers etc etc. I get a painful headache when ever i use them, and my eyes get red and burn. I have tried almost every face wash and face cleanser, i am actually allergic to most of the cosmetics, be it deodorant, perfume, or body powder.
So what should i do now?

get your face wet with warm water this will open pores…then put lemon juice and a teaspoon of sugar on a pad or a cotton ball and then rub it on your face all over!!!!

My skin is very oily around the forehead and nose area. I’ve used alcohol to try and dry it up, but it doesn’t help. I’ve also used Proactive to control the acne, but it also doesn’t help. Does anyone know anything I can buy from the store, not off TV, that will help?

Roaccutane is quite strong and have many side affects, i think you should try other methods first before even trying roaccutane. Hey, i got the same problem here. I have high oily skin and it also dries up sometimes. It’s weird. the climate is what changes it. Anyways, If you are looking for a moisturizer to STICK with, as in stay with it for a LONG time, not switching brands, go for the neutrogena spf 15 oil free moisturizer. There you go, it’s a moisturizer, and a sunblock of 15. Even better, it is greasy free, shiny free, and is not supposed to clog your pores, so in other words, It won’t cause breakouts. There has been VERY good reviews on the internet. Go check it out. Search it on google. You can easily buy this at a local store. Very cheap, ranging from 7-10 dollars. you replace it about every 3 months, depending on how much you use it. Currently, i’m using this my self right now, and i have used it for over 2 years. For cleanser and toner i use proactiv :P, now that, you can’t buy at a store. But hey, there is this cleanser that my brother uses called, “Klear Action”. It is a 3 step process just like proactiv, and it is supposed to be half the price. It includes Cleanser, Toner, Lotion. I would go with this myself, but i can’t because i have proactiv coming in every 2 months where i can’t put a stop to it until my subscription with proactiv is over. Oh, if you still aren’t informed or conveyed, go to www.acne.org … It is the best Dang site on product reviews with people who has experience on products. I have a oily face and I tried some ways, but I still have a oliy face. I have just some acne, like not too much and not too little. And when I wash my face, I use Cetaphil (Skin refreshment wash) for day, shower, and night. I ask my doctor what to do about it and she said just these face wips with some chemical in them. But I use them and it helps for about maximum 30 minutes, then it gets oily again. I drink about 5 cups of water about just about and I eat decently healthy, like not too much junk food, but some. So, basically is there a way to remove it all or atleast reduce the amount of oil on my face?

Be thankful that you have an oily face, they wrinkle less.
When you are 50 years old, you will have nice skin, and all of your friends who don’t have oily faces right now will look like prunes.
If you have acne, then Accutane will dry your face and rid you of the acne, but it is a very expensive prescription drug with scary side effects.
Do not use any wipes with alcohol, because the rebound effect that will make your face even oilier, in a short time.
A mild soap, like Dove and water will clean your face and not lead to oily rebound problems.
Oil absorbing powder, available in compacts, or loose made with cornstarch will help keep the oil down during the day, and prevent shine.
Try to find a colorless powder because tinted foundation powders look phony and can streak.

Clean and clear astringent contains salicylic acid and works well to clear up breakouts when used 2 to three times a day.

the #1 suggestion is to see a dermatologist and get on the meds needed to treat your acne. They usually will give you samples of some of the skin cleansers, and one of them is Neutogena’s Foaming Face Cleanser with a pump bottle so that it stays clean and not contaminated. They will also give you other meds to get rid of the blackheads and then to exfoiliate your skin, too. It’s money well spent and the acne will go away.
