You don’t have to use precleanse first, originally dermalogica suggested that you cleanse your skin twice with the cleanser. However if you have oily skin, precleanse works really well, as it dissolves the tapped oil in your pores, and gives you cleanser skin. Good luck in making your own cleanser, kaolin absorbs oil, so it’s up to you.
