Cleanser For Oily Skin

Article by Elizabeth Roberts

Did you know that forty to fifty-five percent of the women over the age of 25 have oily skin? If you, like me, are lucky enough to be in this group, you will be interested in reading further. I say “lucky” because I have learned that at least those of us who have overly oily skin, will have fewer wrinkles when we reach our “mature” years. The right cleanser will make all the difference in having a radiant face!

The most important thing for controlling oily skin on your face is to be committed to a daily routine of skin cleansing. Be sure to include steaming your face twice a week to get rid of excessive oil. This can be done by boiling a pot of water, turning it off, and steaming your face by putting a towel over your head for five or ten minutes. This opens the pores and helps cleanse them out.

Wash your face twice a day to control the oil and prevent acne. First thing in the morning, wash your face by massaging your cleanser in using your fingertips. Use a gentle, oil free cleanser, preferably a gel if using a commercial brand. This cleanses the top layer of skin. Also, wash your face before bedtime. Rinse your face with hot water, massage the cleanser in using your finger tips, and rinse using cold water. This helps to clear your pores and improves blood circulation.Want A Natural Oily Skin Cleanser?

There are many good cleansers for oily skin on the market, however, you cannot be exactly sure of what you are getting. If you prefer a homemade facial cleanser, I have listed a few below that you might want to try.Yogurt Facial Cleanser:

After applying a hot rag to open the pores, using your fingertips, gently massage Yogurt onto your face. Rinse with cold water to close the pores. Your face will feel young and refreshed.Pineapple Facial Cleanser:

Pineapples have great anti-inflammatory ingredients. Use 2 to 3 tablespoons of fresh pineapple juice with 1 to 2 tablespoons of baking soda as an effective oily skin cleanser.

Milk Face Wash:

Milk contains alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) that exfoliate your skin. Milk applied as a cleanser for oily skin will help remove dead skin cells, improve circulation, and help prevent acne. I’m sure you’ve heard of milk baths? It is true that milk is good for your whole body! AHAs are also found in blackberries and apple juice.Lemon Facial Cleanser:

Fresh lemon juice is a great cleanser for oily skin to help remove oil from your skin and clear your complexion. Just massage lemon juice over your face after you have applied a warm rag and wash off with cold water.

As you can see, there are many types of cleansers for oily skin you may purchase or make yourself. The main thing to remember is to get on a daily routine and stick to it. You too can have beautiful skin.
