Best makeup/products/procedure for pockmarked skin?

Question by : Best makeup/products/procedure for pockmarked skin?
I had acne for over 6yrs and finally cleared it up by Accutane, but I’m left with slight-to-severe indentations on my skin, concentrated especially on my cheeks. My pores are likewise enlarged (T-zone), and my skin has reverted back to oily. I currently wear Lancome foundation, which doesn’t break me out and in combination with the primer I bought it with (which is gone now), reduces the appearance of the pockmarks – temporarily. But it never lasts – after just an hour, the indentations are visible, and become even more pronounced as the day goes on.

I’ve had several chemical peels to deal with discolorations, and I know that the damage done to the dermis (the pockmarks) can only be treated with Fraxel laser procedures… But those are expensive, and I’m wary about spending so much money and getting minimal results.

Has anyone done a laser treatment for their skin? Are there any other products (over-the-counter creams or otherwise) that would help? (I’ve been trying different Retinol creams but haven’t noticed anything after a few months, and BioOil breaks me out.) Which makeup would you recommend for pockmarked skin, that is lasting and doesn’t sink into the crevices? Thanks in advance!

Use concealer to cover pockmarked skin. After that, use light foundation. Don’t use too much blush on because it will make your pockmarked skin more visible.

  1. Cocoa butter is a potent skin moisturizer used for smoothening skin, giving it a light dainty scent upon application. Unknown to some, it can work wonders against pockmarks as long as it is applied religiously on the scars. The components of the solution enhance the skin’s smoothness and elasticity, which help in reducing the scars. Your pockmarks, as a result, will fade after a while. You can also use other powerful moisturizers, if cocoa butter is not available in your local beauty store.
