Unbiased truthful review from a 27 year old guy, March 25, 2012

Ok, first of all, I’d like to clariry that I DO NOT get paid to write this frickin review. I am NOT associated with Amazon or the Chris Gibson author. I know there are so many ways to make money today that even yelp cannot be trusted. People have been telling me that Yelp is a for profit company so that means that we should not fully trust all reviews online. Anyway, I’ll make it short simple and to the point. I didn’t have acne as a teen but I started getting it 3 years ago when I was about 23-24 years old. I battled with it until 2 months ago. The first product that I used was ProActive and it worked the for a few months and then my skin was dry and sensitive and it stopped working. I then tried Olive soap from Israel and it didn’t work, it had a drying effect as well. I then went to the dermatologist in San Jose, CA where I’m from and she prescribed Tetracyline the antibiotic along with Acanya (or a name similar to that), it made me break out like nuts and then it calmed down after about 4 months. I was on it for a year and then i thought i had it beat so i got off of it. low and behold, it came back. i tried going back on but with something else called differin which was highly reccommended on acne.org. it worked but like i said, there would still be break outs sometimes. i got sick of losing the fight, embarrassed and my social and school life suffered. i then searched the internet and read about the acne free in 60 days book and bought the pdf version of it. it opened my eyes to the real cause of acne; it is internal and it can be dealt with through altering the diet because not everyone’s genes is alike. that program had tons of great info but it was too intense and i cannot go through that because i am already thin and so i would be like a skeleton if i went through it. i then checked this book out, chris gibson’s. i bought the kindle and it is not as specific as the 60 days book but it provided the basic essentials like; diet diet diet. it is all about cleaning up your internal organs of elimination. i did the 3 day apple fast with enema at night and that sucked big time since i’m a straight man. luckily i live alone or i’d be sooooo embarrassed if anyone knew about the enema thing. i basically incorporated the info from both books and tweeked the program to my style and also the most important thing is; changing my diet as much as i could. i eat less carbs now, only once or twice a week. i eat less meat and more fish. i eat nuts and seeds and lots lots lots of greens now, and of course cut way back on bad fats. i like my results and will probably do this apple fast thing about 3 times a year just because i want to keep my organs clean year round. anyway i hope this helps and trust me, it is all about the diet and not the frickin dirt so all the soaps and antibiotics in the world can’t help. read as many of these ‘holistic method’ books as you can and gain a well rounded insight on acne. do your dang research about the way diet affecting acne, like dairy, carbs, and bad fats are the main causes. get rid of candida, get rid of the hormones floating around from dairy, get rid of sugars that feed candida and bad fats that make it hard on your organs. its as simple as that. if u have a big problem with acne, dangit, do some research by reading all the holistic methods and dieting methods and tweek to fit your life style, not everyone can eat like a dang monk. do yourself the favor by changing your dand diet diet diet diet diet diet. i’m serious. -tommy the guy that aint paid to write this who just wanna help people with acne because i wish someone had helped me with unbiased reviews back 2-3 months ago. knowledge is power for real

Extreme treatment and tons of filler, December 31, 2011

This entire book’s message can easily be summed up on about one page – the rest is filler. Basically, his “treatment” involves fasting on apples for 3 days and getting frequent enemas. I think recommending something that extreme, especially to teenagers, is irresponsible and dangerous. Plus, you’re acne isn’t cured after following his recommendations. You have to repeat the apple fast and enema every couple weeks! I recommend saving your money and finding something more practical. As they say, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
